Austin Dillon will be the next driver of the Richard Childress Racing No. 21 Nationwide Series car as he will drive in the June 26 event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
Dillon, who has six career series starts and is a rookie in the Camping World Truck Series, will get his shot in the car — which has had John Wes Townley, Clint Bowyer and Scott Riggs behind the wheel and will have Tim George Jr. in the seat this weekend at Road America.
In addition to having a new driver, the No. 21 car also has a new crew chief as Dan Deeringhoff is no longer in charge.
Gere Kennon, who is George’s crew chief in the ARCA Series, will crew chief this weekend while Danny Stockman, Dillon’s crew chief in the trucks, will be crew chief for Dillon at New Hampshire.
