Aric Almirola, driving for JR Motorsports, among 44 entered for Kroger 200 at O'Reilly Raceway Park
Aric Almirola will get his first chance to drive for JR Motorsports as he is slated to drive the team’s No. 88 car as a teammate to Josh Wise in this weekend’s Kroger 200 at O’Reilly Raceway Park.
It will be the first start of the year for Almirola, 26, in the series.
Only seven drivers are scheduled to attempt to drive in both Saturday’s Nationwide race at O’Reilly Raceway Park and the Sprint Cup Series’ Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday
Brad Keselowski, Carl Edwards, Paul Menard, Kyle Busch, Joe Nemechek, Michael McDowell and Reed Sorenson are on the entry lists for both events.
There are 44 drives on the entry list for the 43-car Nationwide field, and although Clint Bowyer is listed in the No. 21 car, it is expected that Morgan Shepherd will be in that car for the race.
Drivers entered with full-time cars that have used different personnel in the seat this year are David Starr (Day Enterprises Racing), Ricky Stenhouse (Roush Fenway Racing), Colin Braun (Roush Fenway), Matt DiBenedetto (Joe Gibbs Racing), Robert Richardson Jr. (R3 Motorsports), Johnny Sauter (Baker Curb Racing), Mike Bliss (Key Motorsports), Kevin Swindell (Baker Curb), and Matthew Carter (Specialty Racing).
