Red Horse Racing officials say that David Starr’s No. 11 Craftsman Truck Series entry will carry the logos of PIT Corporate Training at Lowe’s Motor Speedway this weekend.
The truck will carry a blue and black paint scheme for the Friday night race. Performance Instruction & Training corporate training programs provides motorsports team building and improvement curriculums.
Starr says that racing at Lowe’s is special for all of the teams since most crew members get to stay in their own homes for the weekend.
“The guys on the team get to sleep in their own beds at night and be around their families and still get their job done at the track, and that
doesn’t happen often in this sport,” he said. “Also the guys that work in the shop and don’t travel on the road are given the chance to come out to the track and be a part of the action. It is really special.”
He refers to the track as the mecca of the racing business and points to the history of racing at the track.
He’d like to become a part of that with a win in Friday night’s North Carolina Education Lottery 200. He said that he thinks the team has a
good setup for this race after running at other 1.5-mile tracks, such as Kansas Speedway. His team plans to test at Darlington on Tuesday to further prepare for the race.
“This week should be another step in the right direction,” said Starr, who enters the race 12th in the series standings.
Financial terms of the sponsorship were not announced.
