Skinner paces first truck practice at California

FONTANA, Calif. – Bill Davis Racing’s Mike Skinner led the opening practice Thursday for the San Bernardino County 200 at California Speedway.
Skinner turned a lap of 173.477 mph, one of four drivers to eclipse the 173-mph mark. Skinner was followed by Billy Ballew Motorsports’ Kyle Busch (173.323), Germain Racing’s Todd Bodine (173.081) and BDR’s Johnny Benson (173.069).
Rounding out the top 10 were Kevin Harvick Inc.’s Ron Hornaday, Wyler Racing’s Terry Cook, MRD Motorsports’ Chad McCumbee, Red Horse Racing’s David Starr, KHI’s Jack Sprague and Billy Ballew’s Marc Mitchell.
Final practice for the trucks is scheduled from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. EST.
