SPARTA, Ky. - Roush Fenway Racing's Colin Braun paced Friday's opening Craftsman Truck Series practice at Kentucky Speedway in preparation for The Built Ford Tough 225 on Saturday night.
Braun, who ran a lap of 171.532 mph, was followed on the speed chart by Kevin Harvick Inc.'s Jack Sprague at 170.132 and Billy Ballew Motorsports' Kyle Busch at 169.918.
“We had our No. 6 Ford set up in race trim and I was kind of surprised at our mock [qualifying] run, but we’ll take it," Braun said. "All the guys have been working hard back at the shop over these past few off weeks and it showed. We’ve shown we can run fast and strong at these mile-and-a-half tracks."

Sixth through 10th in speed were ThorSport Racing's Matt Crafton, HT Motorsports' Ted Musgrave, Germain Racing's Chrissy Wallace, TRG Motorsports' Donny Lia and Bill Davis Racing's Mike Skinner.
A final one-hour practice is set for 6:30 p.m. EDT Friday with qualifying on tap for 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
Race coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. Saturday on Speed.
