NASCAR hands Edwards hefty penalties; team considering appeal

NASCAR has penalized Roush Fenway Racing's Carl Edwards 100 driver points and has also taken away his 10-point bonus for the win if he makes this season's Chase For The NASCAR Sprint Cup as a result of rule infractions found last Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

FORT WORTH, Texas - Carl Edwards clinched the 2007 Busch Series championship with two races remaining while Kevin Harvick won the O'Reilly Challenge on Saturday at Texas Motor Speedway.
