AJ Allmendinger is competing in his third full season in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and his second for Richard Petty Motorsports. Allmendinger earned one top-five and six top-10 finishes and finished 24th in the standings in 2009. He finished third in the 2006 Champ Car World Series and then turned his sights to his 2007 rookie Cup season with Red Bull Racing. Allmendinger and the team parted ways in September 2008.
