29 Stephen Leicht
Stephen Leicht was one of three non-Cup drivers to win in the Busch Series in 2007, but after Robert Yates Racing closed its team, Leicht was left without a ride. He hooked up with powerhouse Richard Childress Racing and run selected Nationwide Series races in 2008.
Career Highlights
- Started racing at the age of 5, beginning with Quarter Midgets (1/4 scale version of an actual midget car, which was used to race in the 1930's and 1940's) and go-kart
- At 7, competed in both dirt and asphalt tracks.
- By age 11, Leicht had compiled over 500 starts and over 150 victories in go-kart career.
- Competed in the ASA Late Model Series, and at 18 years of age Leicht won championship. During his championship season, compiled five victories and five runnerup finishes.
