7 reasons to watch the Checker O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 at Phoenix International Raceway: No. 6 - Clear skies

There’s always a slight chance of rain when NASCAR is around, but the forecast is for clear skies. We’re in the desert so I feel confident in that forecast. And even if it does rain, this track dries quickly. So it’s most likely you will see the race when it’s supposed to start (and there’s no baseball to prior to the race to mess up television).
That will allow fans to plan their day and be ready for the engines to fire at around 3:15 p.m. EST.
