Waiting for the NASCAR Hall of Fame
Is it just me, or does it feel as if we are in a perpetual stage of waiting for the NASCAR Hall of Fame?
First, there was all the hype on which city would win the honor to be home of the hall of fame.
Then we fans voted, and we waited for the announcement of the first five inductees.
Now, we’re waiting until the official opening on May 11, 2010. There is even a “counter” so we know how many torturous days we have until we can see the vision made reality.
I know there is work involved planning and building. It takes time.
But being eager is the difference between waiting and being impatient. And, I am the latter.

Oct 19, 2009 at 8:41 AMNASCAR REALLY SCREWED UP. It started about 1947. So the top 5 should come from 1947 to 1957. No way in Heck should Dale Earnhardt even stated on an Interview if I could of Gotten to His Bumper I could have Won. That's Not Racing. That's what the Black Flag is for. If NASCAR threw more BLACK Flags and Less Yellow Flags for Drivers Water Bottles. Why don't they throw them on the Passenger side. Than Next year go 1947 to 1967 and so on. Speaking of Black Flags Why didn't Biffle Get Just Plain Put on Suspension for His Taking Joey Out of the Race on Purpose. It was on the Radio. A Man with Years of Racing to Pick on a 19 Year old Kid. Also the CHASE Sucks. You or NASCAR announcers keep saying How Great If Jimmy will Win 4 Champions in a Row. I Know about 300 Ticket Buying People who will quit going next year. The Biggest Cheaters winning Like they are. I Hope You Dino JJ's Motor. If there to be 800 HP How did he beat the Super speedways Records. By Cheating. I fell asleep for about 1 Hour an Crap. Jimmy was still in the Lead. R.B. Fontana.

Oct 19, 2009 at 8:55 AMLadies and Gentleman Please Stand and Take your Hats off for the National Anthem. I get so Up set. Last Month Kevin #29's Harvicks Wife wore Her Red & Yellow Baseball Hat while the Song was Playing. Her Husband Makes Millions to race in the Land of the Free. But can She Take Her Baseball Hat Off, Hell No. Old Man Hornaday on the Last Truck Race already Had His Driver's Helmet on and was Getting into his Truck Before the Anthem was done. Is He so OLD He's got to get a 7 Minute Jump while Others are Having there Hand on there Hearts. Than Saturday Night it was cool, But again The wife's think that the Ladies and Gentleman doesn't count them. Maybe there Not Ladies. I did see Mrs. Harvick Give a Driver the Finger. Ya a Real Woman. People Maybe Most of the Driver's are Rednecks. No Class at all. Big American Flags are Being Held by Spectators. But the Rich & Famous Don't Play By The American Rules. R.B. Fontana

Oct 19, 2009 at 9:18 AM" THE OLDEST ROOKIE IN THE TRUCK RACES "
Report as AbuseI get so sick buy the Announcers making such a BIG deal of Hornaday Winning 3 or 4 Races in a Row. Big Deal. He's got 30 Plus Years of Racing Experience on Most of the Other Drivers who aren't even 30. When Is NASCAR going to Make Him go Up to Nationwide series to race. The Truck Races was to give younger Drivers the Break to Race in a Bigger Format. But Now their are Some Guys that Should go up in Class. Hornaday could Drive the #33 Harvick Chevy. Only Problem He wouldn't win every week. He would have to race Kyle, Carl, Brad Earnhardt. Drives Like Sr.Move or I'll Put you into the 20 Foot tall Fence.I Used to go to all of the Truck Races. But I quit when Hornaday Got into it. It's Not Fair. Ron used to be the South West Tour Champion. His Orange Car. I'm Not against Ron, I just feel He should Be up where Mark Martin Is. Not Milking the Rookie Series. Come on NASCAR. You wonder why your TV Ratings are Down. Why People Count is down at the Tracks. Homestead Will be a Morgue. Why go. Your Playing GOD again. Not Many FAKE Yellows Saturday. And again it was so Dam Boring. JJ up Front. I Pray to God that He has a Blown Motor, Get's wrecked. Now Denny Know's what Kyle felt Like Last Year. JB. Since Toyota Knows the Motor Problem, Have them Fix the Dam Thing. To Late Now.. R.B. Fontana, Ca..

Oct 19, 2009 at 9:43 AMTheir are Two Racing Families that were and are alot alike. The Petty's & The Earnhardt's. Bot Fathers were Good Racers. But THe King was a Much Cleaner Racer. He Raced, Nut Spin the Guy out. Than Kyle Petty started doing Not so Great. He was smart. He got out. Dale Jr. Not so Smart. The Only Time you see Him is in a Nationwide Commercial, A Jean Commercial. He after they Dumped Tony Jr. Did a little Better.
Report as AbuseBut He's Like a Part & Stop Car. Two races He finally saw the top 8 Cars. I really think He should quit Trying to Drive. Here the Hendricks Have 3 / THREE Cars in the Chase. Or Really 5 with Tony & Ryan. But No Jr. He could go into being an announcer. But I don't think No one would understand him. Ask him a question. OK Jr. the 48 is up Front. Than Denny in the #11 Joe Gibbs Car. Than the #5 Car. Whose in it. Jr. I don't Know. I never get Up There to see who it is. DA.. Jr. It's your Team Mate. OK. Um. Tony Jr. I'm Really Not sure who is Better Scott Speed, Dale Jr. Or Dave Blaney. I found Out that Guy can Drive.
When His car Owner Has a Sponsor, He Can Drive.
Red Bull. Dump your Dead Calf, you had a Great Driver their but you Screwed Him up Good. Now do the Same to Scott Slow Speed and Put Blaney
in the #82 Car. As for Seeing it, That's just His Crashes. R.B. Fontana, Ca

Oct 19, 2009 at 12:18 PMCarolyn: Well said. I think NASCAR is using anticipation as a marketing tool, but it is getting old. I do feel like I am in a perpetual state of waiting for the Hall of Fame, but I do think in the end it will be worth it. I don't think they have over-hyped it at all, and it will live up to all of our expectations.

If you look at military and National standards, women are not required to remove their hats during the National Anthem. Only men. Please don't bash Mrs. Harvick, as both she and her husband are very patriotic and she showed no disrespect.
As far as your comment regarding Ron Hornaday, well, I am starting to think you just have something against KHI in general. Many years ago, all drivers were in their cars before the National Anthem was sung. And the 'late, great' Dale Sr used to sit in his car for a much longer period of time before races to collect his thoughts and escape the chaos of the pre-race. If that is what he needs to do to perform at his best, then by all means, to each his own. It is not your place, or mine, or tell him what he should or should not do with his time building up to the firing of engines.
I am not trying to sound judgmental or condescending, but did you really need to post 3 negative, ranting comments here? Please find a message board specifically for rants and leave the comments section on blogs and articles for just that: comments on the blog or article.

Oct 19, 2009 at 6:25 PMDear #1,2,3&4
Report as AbuseAre you ill? Did somebody kick your dog? Are you even a fan of racing? How sad you must be in your life. Certainly, there's a lot about NASCAR to get one's dander up, but there's much more to appreciate. In any event, there's no need to be mean and nasty about so many things, of which I suspect you know next to nothing. These are human beings you're spewing hatred of. Criticize, yes, but do it with reason, for heaven's sake.
