Hoping Mark Martin can win it all

September 25 2009

I said it before Mark Martin retired. I said it when he came out of retirement. I’m saying it again, now:I would love to see Mark Martin be added to the list of Sprint Cup Champions.

If Martin isn’t the sentimental favorite of all time than who is?

Martin is off to a good start. In the first race in the Chase For The Sprint Cup, he put a win in his pocket. Now, it’s on to Dover, where the Hendrick Motorsports driver has a stout record.

Let’s be realistic, though. Mark Martin is not alone in the top 10. Breathing down his neck is none other than teammate Jimmie Johnson, who has proved over and over he knows how to get it done. Tony Stewart is also a force to be reckoned with, and only one race into the Chase it’s too early to count anyone out.

But, still, with that said, I would love to see Mark Martin win it all.

Too early to call in a prediction? Yes, but not too early to cross my fingers.

I have been a Martin fan for a long, long time. I know he is on the the top of the world with his current ride at Hendrick, and I am too, but there is one thing I miss from when he was at Roush. He, or the staff at Roush, posted a race recap after every race. It gave information on Mark's race from the crew's prospective and comments made by Mark, with comentary on everything that happen in the race including the adjustments made at every pit stop. I really enjoyed that tpye inside information. I would love to see that again!
