Carolyn grew up an army brat. It is her personal mission to live up to all stereotypes of the obnoxious NASCAR fan and to raise her children to follow in her footsteps.

Pink.

Personally, I love the color. As a NASCAR fan, I rarely get to see it incorporated into paint schemes on the track. But, it will be a different story on Oct. 17 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, when multiple teams will be running the color as a part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Ask.com, sponsor of the No. 96 Ford primarily driven by Bobby Labonte, has partnered up with the Susan G. Komen foundation to make that race day personal. Any fan who visits Ask.com on Oct. 1 can make a free tribute to honor survivors, those living with breast cancer or those lost to the disease.

These tributes will be featured on Labonte’s car for the upcoming race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway.

Most fans personally know someone who has been affected by breast cancer. The American Cancer Society reports 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with the disease at some point in their life. What a great opportunity for us fans to honor our moms, sisters, daughters and friends than with a few of our thoughtful words racing around the track.

Go pink!
