If I’m David Stremme, I don’t worry about Robby Gordon wrecking me this week at Watkins Glen. But in a few weeks at Bristol, I’d be watching my rear bumper for some retaliation after their dustup Monday at Pocono.
Robby Gordon isn’t going to ruin a chance to win at Watkins Glen with a retaliatory spin that could get him penalized. He knows this is one chance for a great finish that he isn’t going to give up on a guy he’s mad at from the week before – unless for some reason he has an issue during the race at The Glen where he already is out of winning contention. If so, then watch out, Stremme.
With Michigan the following week, it probably will end up being Bristol where Gordon finally will get his revenge on Stremme. But it is going to happen somewhere, sometime down the road.
Granted, it’s not the biggest rivalry or little fight among drivers in NASCAR, but anytime you’ve got Gordon involved, it can be fun to watch.
