FORT WORTH, Texas – Brad Keselowski did what few football players could do to Hall of Famer Michael Irvin.

Keselowski took Irvin’s breath away as Keselowski – a former defensive lineman in pee wee football but one never to be confused for a football player – reached about 165 miles per hour as he took Irvin around in a two-seat driving school car Thursday at Texas Motor Speedway.

As Irvin had to sit in the car for a little bit as he collected his wits and hoped his churning stomach wouldn’t explode, Keselowski kind of smiled. Having fun with a Hall of Famer was worth getting up early for this media opportunity, which received coverage from several local television stations. Irvin hosts a radio show in the Dallas area and the former Cowboy wide receiver vowed that he probably wouldn’t step in a race car again if it was going that fast. It’s probably a good thing no one showed Irvin a tape of Keselowski’s California wreck from last year before he got into the car.

“I think I got Michael’s attention,” Keselowski said. “Hopefully he had a good time. … I told him what he was doing was like playing catch. We were just tossing the ball back and forth. Imagine it with 42 other cars. It’s way different.”
