Kyle Busch is ninth in the driver standings and just 48 points ahead of 13th-place Kasey Kahne. That’s 48 points he has between him and not making the Chase For The Sprint Cup with 10 races left before the 12-driver field is determined.

Will he make the Chase? That question has an easy answer. Now this might not be going out on a limb, but here’s a prediction: Kyle Busch will make the Chase.

Busch’s hard-racing nature might punish his equipment and result in some mistakes, but it will keep him in the top 12. Busch won three of the first 16 races, and it’s hard to imagine that he won’t win a couple of more before the Chase begins.

Those wins will compensate for any bad finishes. And when it comes down to a couple of races prior to the Chase, Busch will be able to temper himself enough that he won’t give up his spot in the top 12.

Busch will make it in the Chase, no question. What about the question of whether he has what it takes to peak at the right time, handle the pressures of the Chase and become a champion? That’s the one that remains unanswered.
